People naturally have a lot of questions when it comes to videography! Here are some of the most frequently asked:

Q: Why do wedding videos vary so much in price?
A: The price differential primarily comes into play during post-production. You'll see your videographer for 6-12 hours on the wedding day -- and when your videographer comes home from the wedding, she has to edit the footage and author the DVD, which can take anywhere from 30-70 hours depending on the wedding and the style of the video. This is why you probably shouldn't shop for your video on price; style is key to making sure you get what you want in a wedding video.

Q: Why should I have a wedding video in the first place?
A: Okay, for this one I have to go to a recent wedding, when I caught my client Heather writing a letter to her future husband on film -- and later on, I was present when he opened that letter before the ceremony. It was a touching, absolutely priceless moment that neither of them would have seen if I hadn't been there with my camera. And that's my commitment - to be there. Similarly, the bride misses most of the action - she's usually in the bride's room before the ceremony and before the introductions, and misses the guests arriving, the pre-ceremony music, the cocktail hour, and so much more!

Q: Can I afford you?
A: We think that everyone deserves the awesome product that is a good wedding video, and have adjusted our pricing accordingly. In order to bring our services within price range of most brides, we’ve created several ways to serve your individual needs. We’re not the cheapest videographer in the area—nor are we the most expensive. If you place a premium on excellence, you’ll love us.

Q: Will you distract our guests during the ceremony or reception?
A: How far we go with guest interaction depends completely on your comfort level. We don't do interviews unless you request them, and we pride ourselves on our ability to stay relatively unseen and still get fantastic shots. We also come dressed in wedding-appropriate attire.

Q: What's the best way to figure out whether or not I'll like you and your work?
A: Come out for a consultation - or I'll come to you! I'll bring examples of recent weddings, and you'll be able to see real weddings all the way through. You'll also get to ask me whatever questions you wish, as buying a wedding video isn't an everyday experience. This also gives us a chance to talk face-to-face about video ideas and what I can do to make your special day sparkle in the final DVD.

Q: When will our DVDs be ready, and how long will it be?
A: Due to variations in scheduling, the usual waiting period is anywhere from one week to five months. Editing well takes time, and I am busier during the spring, summer and fall than in the winter. The length of your video depends on the length of your ceremony and reception; a Justice of the Peace wedding ceremony will naturally be shorter than a full Catholic Mass, for example. Your video will also be longer if you request extras like a bride's prep, a love story, or a slideshow.

Q: How many videographers will be at my wedding?
A: All ceremonies will be filmed by two videographers. Depending on your budget, we can also provide two videographers at your reception as well to get a second angle.

Q: Do you work well with still photographers?
A: I love photographers! I think what they do is very important, and my own wedding photos are among my most treasured possessions. I operate "behind the scenes" while your photographer is working. During events like your first dance, I actively try to stay out of her shots. I often call photographers ahead of time if I haven't worked with them before to get an idea of their style and how I can work with that style and not against it. Our unobtrusive camera lights actually provide some "fill light," as well, which means pictures from your reception will actually look more natural.

Q: Do you pose the bride and groom?
A: I think you're probably going to be posed enough by your photographer, and I'm more interested in natural emotion, anyway - I'll actually introduce myself and ask you to ignore me all day! I will probably ask the photographer for five minutes at the end of your photoshoot to get some detail shots we can't get from far away, but that's it!

Q: Are you going to use bright lights?
A: There's no way around it - good HD video needs light. We're always going to need our on-camera lights in a dark reception hall; but they are very unobtrusive and most dancers don't notice them at all. There are some fantastic ways to get good lighting without bothering your guests - ways that can actually "dress up" your reception and make the room look more dramatic. Talk to us to find out more.

Q: What if I want more copies a few years from now?
A: We keep a master copy of your wedding in the office. If you ever need more copies, you may call us and request a new copy for a small fee.

Q: We want to book you. What do I do?
A: Hooray! We look forward to working with you and providing you with the best wedding video possible. You will need to provide us with a signed contract and a $200 deposit to reserve the date. Once the deposit is made, I'm your videographer for the day, and you can add any coverage you wish up until the week before the wedding. The balance is due on the day of the wedding; editing cannot begin until the balance is received.

Q: What equipment do you use?
A: We use professional Panasonic AVCHD solid-state cameras, Azden microphones and professional stabilization equipment, among other items. I edit using Macintosh and Final Cut Pro.

Q: Do I need to provide a meal for the videographer?
A: Yes. I will spend six to twelve hours at your wedding, and it is politely requested that you provide a small meal. A sit-down meal with guests is not required. Many venues provide half-cost vendor meals. I just request that I eat somewhere in the main ballroom, as eating outside in the hallway prevents me from being present in case something wonderful happens that I'd like to film!

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: I accept credit cards through PayPal at this time with a small fee.

Q: Where do you film weddings?
A: I cover Orange, Seminole, Lake, Polk, Osceola, Sumter, Marion, Brevard and Volusia counties with no charge. Outside of this area, I will respectfully ask for a small fee to cover mileage and other travel costs.
