FAQ
1. What are your prices?
Our videos start at $500. Full films begin at $1300. For complete options, please send an e-mail.
2. Why don’t you make videos that run for more than an hour?
Remember: it’s all about the style. When purchasing a wedding video, it is absolutely imperative not to book based on price alone. Different videographers have different strengths, and not every bride wants a long documentary. We absolutely love making killer short films, we want to make them quicker than you can get a long-form edit, and prospective clients tell us that this is the style of video that they really want, too. Check out the videos to see if you agree!
One of the other reasons we offer short video only is to provide a quality, gorgeous wedding film to clients who would not ordinarily be able to afford a video of this caliber.
3. But I want to see my vows and the toasts all the way through!
We no longer offer documentary edits because of the time it takes to edit and produce those films — and our clients tell us that the shorter, snazzier edit is what they want, anyway! You can purchase basic edits of the toasts, ceremony, etc., if you wish, so you don’t have to worry about missing those special moments.
4. Will I get to see everything that happens on the wedding day?
By spending eight hours covering your wedding, we capture all of the exciting, emotional high points of the day, from the moments where you are getting ready to the cake cutting and dancing. By not offering minute-to-minute coverage, we are free to be more artistic, getting the close-ups and gorgeous shots that we feel will make your video worth watching over and over again. Our videos contain absolutely no filler and you’ll never be tempted to press fast forward. We don’t want your video to be “just a record” of your day — we want it to feel like a movie!
5. Will you talk to me or to the guests on the day of the wedding? Will we see you?
You will see me, and I will talk to you, but we are not the “obnoxious videographers” of yore. We do not talk to your guests unless they initiate the conversation. We like to stay as quiet and unobtrusive as possible. Most of our interaction with you will come during the post-ceremony photoshoot and the beginning of the day when you are getting ready.
6. Do you use lights?
Yes, we do. Without light, you can’t have video! If the photographer is using his or her flash — in a dark prep room, for example, or during the first dance — we probably need a light, too. In smaller rooms, our on-camera lights usually suffice; in larger spaces and ballrooms, we light the dance floor for the formal events. All of our recent work contains examples of this, so you can see just how awesome it looks in the final product. Don’t worry, for the dancing we use our on-camera lights.
7. What about microphones?
Narration is an integral part of a Studio Osborne wedding film. Both your presider and the groom will need to be miked during the ceremony, and we also use microphones for the toasts and blessings.
8. When do I need to pay?
We require a $300 nonrefundable deposit upon signing the contract to reserve our services for your wedding. The balance of payment may be made any time before your wedding. No editing can take place until the full balance is received.
If you plan on paying on the wedding day, we will only accept checks. Before the wedding day, we accept checks, money orders, cash, PayPal and Square.
9. How long is it going to take?
Trailers will always be delivered within a week of your wedding date. Currently, our wait time for long videos is six to nine months because we are still editing long-form videos for clients of our previous pricing structure. This is the best and fairest way to please all clients, as we want every single one of our videos to shine. When all of the current long-form videos are delivered to clients, we do not expect any of our short films to take more than one or two months to deliver. Please ask me for the current wait time if this concerns you.
10. Do you offer photography as well?
Because we believe photography and film are two different specialties, we do not offer photography directly through Studio Osborne and instead concentrate strictly on video. I do have a short list of awesome photographers which we would be happy to recommend to you. Please e-mail us for more information.
11. Can I get the raw footage?
Raw footage is available. Please contact us for more information.
12. Have you shot a wedding at my venue?
All of the trailers I have filmed since moving my business to Orlando in 2009 are up on the site and tagged accordingly. Please have a look at our video collection (link) to check for your venue or participating vendor!
